Toilet Clogs

If your toilet clogs, avoid flushing repeatedly, as it may cause the water to overflow and create a mess. Instead, locate the water shut-off valve near the base of the toilet and turn it off to prevent further filling. Equip yourself with rubber gloves and a plunger; use a forceful yet controlled motion to attempt to dislodge the blockage. If this fails, consider a toilet auger, a tool designed for this purpose.

Avoid using chemical drain cleaners, as they can damage pipes.

Sink & Shower Clogs

When your drains are clogged, start by assessing the severity of the blockage. If it's a minor issue, you can try a few DIY solutions. Begin with a plunger; create a tight seal over the drain and use firm, rhythmic plunging motions. If that doesn't work, a mixture of baking soda and vinegar followed by hot water can help break down grease and debris.

For stubborn clogs, a drain snake or auger may be necessary to physically remove the obstruction.
